Explanation of standards used in the description of protective clothing
EN ISO 13688:2013/A1:2021
General requirements for protective clothing
The norm specifies basic requirements for protective clothing, such as ergonomics
(adjustment to the user and freedom of movement), harmlessness of materials (no toxic,
allergenic substances), durability and marking (labels with information about the
manufacturer, size, maintenance). It is the basis for other specific standards.
PN-EN ISO 20471
High visibility warning clothing
It concerns clothing used in places with increased risk, e.g. in construction, road construction
or logistics. It specifies requirements for fluorescent materials (colours: yellow, orange, red)
and reflective materials, ensuring visibility during the day and night. It is divided into classes
(1-3) depending on the surface of the reflective materials.
PN-EN 14058
Clothing that protects against moderate cold
Protects against cold at temperatures from -5°C upwards (e.g. in refrigerated warehouses).
Determines thermal insulation, air permeability and optionally water resistance.
Does not apply to extreme frosts.
